Dr. Rachel Velez is a Clinical Instructor at the University Eye Center in the Adult Primary Care, Pediatric Primary Care and Vision Rehabilitation clinics. Dr. Velez completed her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, majoring in Biology. She received her Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. She went on to complete a residency in Vision Therapy and Rehabilitation at SUNY College of Optometry, and was the recipient of the Dr. Martin H. Birnbaum Memorial Award for a Vision Therapy Resident. Her areas of interest include strabismus, binocular vision, amblyopia, pediatrics, neuro-optometric rehabilitation, and ocular disease.
